Doing simple everyday grocery shopping will help you learn the the prices of food, cloths, shoes, and other things but also learn what to buy and when to buy in order to know how to spend your money.
Writing down on a paper the word of an object(food, cloth, personal objects, etc) in both portuguese and your native languague. Reading it out loud the word and associate it with the image of the object will help you learn it more quickly.

Audio and visual quos helps on the process of learning a new language. Listening to people saying words and repeating after will help you understanding how to pronunciate correctly.
Texting or writing down the words you wanna learn how to spell will help work on you muscle memory. Remenber praticing your spell is has important has speaking it!
